BMW R50/2, very genuine and original,

Here we have an extremely rare and original 1960 BMW R50/2 in excellent untouched condition, looking it’s age

Matching numbers 560843, with 37,400 miles

The paint is poor and on the tank it is cracking, inside the tank is like new

Rims are excellent and will clean up easily

Seat is solid but cover has a couple of tears, still it is the original seat

When we went to start the bike we found that the spark was weak, we remote fitted a 12 volt coil and leads and it started and ran nicely, no rattles, smoke or visible issues

We cleaned the carbs, all good, did a compression test cold and before starting and it was just over 100 psi per cylinder

There must be an issue with the original on board coil, it does generate a spark but will not start on it
