BSA A70 Lightning 750cc twin, Very Rare, project SOLD

SOLD

Here is an ultra rareĀ  6/1971 BSA A70 Lightning, only 202 of these 750cc twin cylinder bikes were ever produced and they all went to the USA

This one is matching numbers A70L-GE01077

It was dismantled many years ago in readiness for a restoration, which never happened

I have loosely assembled it back to as complete as possible, the engine was complete but had the heads and barrels removed, it does not turn over, I removed the primary cover and everything is there and OK, a little bit rusty but still very good.

I placed the heads and barrels on without bolts, all valves etc are in the head, the rockers are shown in the picture of parts

It has the correct ” Jones ” WM2 x 19 and WM3 x 18 rims and wheels, tyres are near new

There are lots of missing parts, I did not get any nuts or bolts with the bike so most parts are just loose fitted and metric bolts etc

There are no cables, oil or fuel lines, no wiring, l/h headlight bracket missing

Tank is solid and good inside, I apologize for my pressure pack paintjob

Please look at the pictures and ask any sensible questions, I am not an expert and rely on books and google to understand the finer points of this bike

Please understand the significance of this bike and that it is being sold as a project, it deserves and will need a full restoration
